Appearance

Recently I've started wondering how people see me. It began after I was listening to recordings of myself and I was shocked to learn that I am on occasion flamboyant. This was in conflict with my self image of a brooding poet. So I've decided to take a look at how people might view me and how I'd like to be viewed.
I'll start with a description of my "style", as I have a quite individual one. What I typically wear is quite loose trousers, a t-shirt (often of some band or alcoholic drink), a waistcoat, a leather waistcoat, a denim jacket, a leather effect trilby and when out a leather or suede jacket. Oh, and a silk tie. Add to this my hair which I measured at 2ft and you get a quite strange look. It's a look that has developed over time, with new parts added every now and then, so it lacks a unified goal. But if I were to say what I'm going for with the look I'd probably say (well actually I'm saying it now) is I'm going for roguish rockstar, with flavours of traveller, artist and punk. Or, as my brother puts it, "You look like a moron."
So I'd say I'm going for a tortured poet look, but as I said before I can come off as a bit flamboyant. So I'm shooting for Bob Dylan and ending up with Dale Winton. Great. That means I'll end up saying things such as "This scotch is as bitter as my soul. Isn't it just Fab-U-Las." What a chilling vision of my future.
But perhaps I can fix this with my new "Spring look", which is black skinny jeans, white t-shirt, black shirt with white stripes and the trilby and tie from my "Algar classic" look. It's a much simpler look and hopefully strikes the right balance between broody and metrosexual, or as I like to call it, broodosexual.
Just one final point: Doing research for this post I asked if people thought I was attractive. The first response was "you have a good bone structure", which seems to be a way of avoiding the question. I then posted the question on facebook and got "No comment." from someone who I haven't actually seen for years (and who should be indebted to me as I potentially saved him from a hangover) who then asked someone else I haven't seen in years who responded with "no". Someone else also said no, but he's secretly in love with me and is just hiding it.

That was this weeks post and as always feel free to leave feedback and suggestions.
