Half-hearted train of thought

Life is like a box of chocolate. Too much of it and you'll get sick. And potentially diabetic. Most of life isn't really doing new things or getting great memories, it's doing the same thing as you always do. Because it's practically impossible to keep thinking of original things to do with your life. So you go through most of it sitting in chairs and enjoying your favourite time killer, or sitting in chairs while doing work. Or sitting in a chair on the way from your favourite time killer chair to your work chair. The majority of your life is spent in these chairs. And, occasionally, you have a chocolate. You remember the chocolate better than you remember the chairs. This is why the older generation is convinced that kids don't go out and have fun like they used to; they remember the chocolate of their youth, they forget all the time spent sitting in chairs. Oh, they also had those hoops that you chased with a stick. That was actually the oldest generation who will remember doing that, I just thought I'd mention hoop rolling. Apparently it's an ancient game, we really should all start playing it again. But I digress, which is probably for the best, what with all the rubbish I'm talking about.
So, this metaphor has a point, I'm sure. Something about making sure that you have a comfortable chair and remember to eat chocolate occasionally. Metaphorically, I think. Oh, and chase hoops with a stick. But literally do that.
I'm really not sure what I was going for in this post with an extended mixed metaphor, but it came out quite embarrassingly. Ah well.

This was actually one of your best posts until you started condemning yourself with digression and putting the post down.
