I'll start with the obvious question of New Year's resolutions. This year I've gone with writing at least one blog post per week, except when I don't have access to a computer, but then I might just write a post and post date it so it automatically posts while I'm away. However, before getting excited about the prospect of 52 posts, consider the percentage of new year resolutions that are actually successful. Although I plan to do a post a week, I try to remain realistic. At the very least I plan to do more posts than last year, which I just counted and found out yo be 10.
Moving on, I just looked through all my facebook updates of the last year and realised it was in fact a rather dull year in respect to how much I did, or at least how much I facebooked. I'm sure I did something of merit during the year, I just can't think of it right now.
So, onto my plans for this year, to make it more exciting than the last. Urm. Damn. I forgot to make plans for this year. At this point you might notice that by forcing myself to do a post a week I will have to sacrifice the quality of the posts. But when it comes to blogging, it's quantity before quality, right?
Actually I might have a plan for the year which could interest you, my loyal reader, which is to start work on a book about me inspired by this blog. Which all seems a tad self absorbed. At the moment I'm still struggling with the direction it would take. The obvious idea for a book about myself would be an autobiography, but seeing as I haven't lived through enough of my life to actually fill a book that seems like a bad idea, as well as the fact that I haven't accomplished all that much, certainly not enough to interest the average reader. Maybe once I've conquered the free world (though surely it wouldn't be free once I'd conquered it?), won a few Oscars and revolutionised music I'll think over the idea again.
The second option would be a non-linear book of my thoughts, much like this blog. I'd have to lay on the autism angle pretty thick though to give it any commercial prospects. Again though there's the question of why the hell would anyone want to read it? Which raises the question of unique selling point, or USP, which is what distinguishes my book from the millions of others, and why the customer, or, more importantly for me as the author, publisher would choose my book. The only words that spring to mind here are autistic punk.
Which brings us to my third and final idea, which is very similar to my second idea, except that it would almost all be about autism and would be more around the idea of neurodiversity and autistic rights. The trouble with the last two ideas is that non-linear writing tends to end up very messy, so a structure would almost certainly be needed.
At this point there are quite a few variables to whether or not I'll even try to write a book, but the main one is the response and suggestions I get from you, the reader. Because without readers a book is just paper with squiggles on it. So please comment or contact me with feedback/suggestions/death threats. Or maybe not death threats.

I like the sound of you writing a book - as you seem to mainly want to just have your thoughts this is where I advise you start - just start writing some thoughts. Once you have enough down on paper, you can always edit it for an angle and structure etc. Looking forward to your post a week.
