It's coming to the end of international I'm Never Drinking Again Day and as people crawl out of whatever gutter or rubbish tip they wake up in, we take a moment to think back over the last year. Well, it tends to start with someone asking "What the hell did I do last night?" and this progresses to "What the hell did I do with my life last year?". This is an especially great time for bloggers as it allows us an easy topic that we know no one will read to carefully as it might hurt their heads more.
So, what the hell did I do with my life last year? Not much. Well, that's not really true, but what I did do wasn't all that interesting. First let's look at my New Year's Resolutions from last year. Firstly there was the resolution to put more thought into my blog posts. I think we can all agree that didn't happen. Secondly I resolved to be less of a dick, which I feel I've achieved. I'm still mean to people for fun, but at least now I feel bad about it. Lastly I resolved to drink many new types of alcohol, which I've achieved. I should be a life coach.
So what about next year? What half-arsed resolutions can I make now? They're mostly boring. Firstly I resolve to read Roger Penrose's The Road to Reality, an incredibly long book about physics. Secondly I resolve to stop being totally awful at drawing and just be quite awful. Thirdly and lastly, I resolve to beatbox while I pee. This will then become "my thing". The reason for this is it will allow me to have this exchange: "Were you just beatboxing?" "Oh yeah, that's just my thing." "Your thing beatboxes?"
So, happy new year.
