But not to worry, for I will still be doing a blog post. As you can see. Because, you know, you're reading it.
So today's blog will be about shoelaces. Yeah, shoelaces.
You might want to skip this one to be honest.
But seriously, where would we be without shoelaces? Probably where we are now, but with more slip on shoes.
You know the bit at the end of the laces, usually made of plastic? It's called an aglet. That's a useful fact, great for pulling girls with. Assuming they are really, really dull girls.
Here's a website about shoelaces: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/, 'Bringing you the fun, fashion & science of shoelaces'
This guy made a website about shoelaces. Just from that fact, imagine how a first date would go with him.
"Hi, I really love this restaurant."
"I like what you've done with your shoelaces"
"Urm, ok. Shall we order drinks now?"
"I don't care. I see you've got a crooked bow. You're a bad girl aren't you?"
"I, I don't even know what you're talking about."
"Your shoelaces, they're crooked. Naughty."
"I'm going to leave now."
"Don't walk too quickly! You haven't doubled the knot, it'll come undone!"
And that is why you should not go on blind dates.
I'm sure "Ian Fieggen" is actually a perfectly decent guy. A perfectly decent guy who loves shoelaces. Who has a section on his website called "Shoe Lacing Photo of the Week". Which is up to date.
And it turns out he has a book called Laces: 100s of Ways to Pimp Your Kicks.
He also seems like the kind of guy who would search his own name, so maybe I stop talking about him. Also I'd like to say he has a wonderful website and a perfectly legitimate
Let's reflect on what we've learnt.
The bit at the end of a shoelace is called an aglet.
And that concludes another exciting instalment of my blog.
Oh, also notice my new sharing buttons below. Don't just notice them, click them. Remember, this is 2010. Sharing is sexy.

No offense taken. I'm used to people thinking of shoelaces as the most trivial of trivial objects. That's probably why you started a blog post about shoelaces, right? Hopefully some of your readers may appreciate the link.
I'm glad you didn't take offence. Of course none of it is meant as a personal comment. To be honest I actually quite respect the fact that you've learnt so much about your subject (though I admit I chose it because it seems trivial, but I don't really know anything about shoelaces, so I can't really comment on how interesting they are.). The thing is, you are one of a very small number of people who can confidentially say you know more about your subject than anyone else in the world, and that's something that's got to be respected.
Also, you're probably the most famous person ever to read my blog.
